Wintrust Commercial Banking Continues Expansion

Hires Christian Espinoza as Vice President, moves to new office location.

Continuing their growth in 2023, Wintrust is proud to announce the hiring of Christian Espinoza as Vice President, Lender - Commercial and Middle Market Banking. Christian will work with Managing Director Malcolm Evans to offer creative C&I lending, banking and treasury management solutions to business banking clients and middle-market companies in Denver and the surrounding market.

“The team here in Denver is highly committed to their customers and community,” says Espinoza. “With the foundation that’s already been laid by the team last year, we’re set to hit the ground running in 2023. It’s extremely exciting.”

Christian joins Wintrust with nearly a decade of banking experience. Prior to joining Wintrust, Christian served as a Commercial Lending Officer with Seattle Credit Union in Seattle and KeyBank in both Denver and Seattle. Christian brings a strong background in credit structuring, credit underwriting, and specialty finance - specifically in healthcare, sponsor financing, and equipment financing.

“During the interview process, we knew Christian would be a great fit. Not only with his banking background, but also with the level of personal service he will bring to our clients,” says Malcolm. “Christian will play a huge part in Wintrust’s continued growth by forging new relationships within the business community here in Colorado.”

Additionally, the Wintrust team has finalized their lease at 1125 17th Street, their new Denver headquarters.

“Being centrally located in Denver is important for our clients and the team,” Evans says. “As we’re growing in a new market, it’s important to foster a community by planting permanent roots in the heart of that community, which this space allows us to do.”
