Jeff Hahnfeld joined Wintrust in 2004 and serves as Executive Vice President, Controller, and Chief Accounting Officer, overseeing all accounting operations at Wintrust. Prior to his current role, he served many ascending roles at Wintrust, including Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller, Senior Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Finance, and Controller of Crystal Lake Bank & Trust.

Before joining Wintrust, Jeff worked in accounting policy, commercial, and consumer bank accounting roles at Washington Mutual, Inc. and Bank One Corporation. He also held roles as a senior financial analyst at IMC Global, Inc. and as a senior internal auditor at The Interlake Corporation. He began his career in 1993 with Price Waterhouse in their Chicago audit practice. 

Jeff is a Certified Public Accountant. He earned his accounting degree from North Central College and his MBA from DePaul University. He has also completed executive leadership programs at Stanford University Graduate School of Business and The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
