Jim Lentino joined Wintrust in 2017 and currently serves as the company’s chief risk officer, reporting to the chief executive officer and the Risk Management Committee of the Board. In this role, he oversees the Corporate Risk Management Department and is responsible for the company’s overall risk management strategy and framework. He oversees the development and execution of the second-line of defense risk oversight function, which assesses risks independent of the frontline business units and complements the risk-taking activities through monitoring and reporting. 

Jim is responsible for appropriately identifying, measuring, monitoring, and controlling aggregate and emerging risks. He has an extensive background in risk management, with more than 30 years of experience in senior risk management positions at ABN AMRO Bank, LaSalle National Bank, HSBC, and Discover Financial Services.

Jim received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Loyola University Chicago and his MBA from DePaul University.
